He made the remark at the opening ceremony of the 39th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition, held Saturday afternoon concurrent with Eid al-Maba’ath (marking the appointment of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the last messenger of God).

Esmaeili added that the Islamic Revolution has come with the message of the Quran to save humanity from ignorance and from serving Taghuts (Those who rule by other than the rule of God).

He said the organization of the annual international Quran competition shows everyone that this revolution began with a Quranic nature and will continue like that, too.

He noted that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions emphasized that our revolution is a Quranic one and that it will continue by keeping the teachings of the Holy Book alive in everyday life.

The culture minister stressed that promoting the Quran is on top of the Iranian administration’s cultural agenda.

He further thanked all of those involved in organizing the international Quranic event.

The ceremony was held at the Tehran Summit Hall with high-ranking Iranian officials in attendance.

He said that a total of 52 participants from 33 countries will vie in the final round of the event in Tehran in the coming days.
